Über

Overview Project LEO is an initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low‑latency, high‑speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
Role As a member of LEO MAC‑SW, you will deliver embedded firmware code running on ground networks on customer terminals and on satellites. You will design, develop and test complete LEO‑MAC firmware, working in a cross‑functional team.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, integrate and bring up Kuiper‑MAC FW components/drivers in a real‑time embedded environment.
Define multidimensional performance requirements (e.g., MIPs, memory bandwidth).
Make performance and optimization trade‑offs to meet end‑to‑end use case requirements.
Build component use‑cases/test‑cases and debug code in the LEO embedded environment.
Profile and execute code on RTOS and/or bare‑metal embedded environment.
Contribute to defining services and functionalities delivered by your FW‑subsystems.
Define, document, test, and debug FW‑HW interfaces.
Familiarity with SW/FW best practices (clean architecture, refactoring, etc.).
Export Control Requirement Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems.
1+ year of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
1+ year of embedded firmware development experience.
1+ year of object‑oriented design experience.
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
Experience in embedded development in C/C++.
Experience in embedded wireless systems.
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
