Join a dedicated clinical team in the Midwest region, providing essential support in primary health care and patient management within an ophthalmology setting. This role involves direct patient care and collaboration with physicians to ensure smooth and effective healthcare delivery.
Key Responsibilities: 1. Deliver patient care directly or through delegation, maintaining awareness of normal and abnormal clinical signs to identify at-risk patients. Respond promptly to telephone inquiries and triage as needed, offering reassurance and clear guidance. 2. Facilitate efficient healthcare service delivery during patient visits by ensuring medical records are accurate and up to date, initiating patient contact, gathering medical histories, and preparing patients for examinations. Monitor patients for abnormal symptoms, communicate findings to physicians, and document accordingly. 3. Assist physicians with testing and treatment procedures, including performing preliminary tests, following physician orders, managing sample medications and logs, arranging necessary patient testing or admissions, and preparing for minor surgeries. Obtain consents for invasive procedures and distribute educational materials to support patient understanding of treatments and medications. 4. Maintain clinical care areas by stocking and organizing patient education materials, supplies, and equipment. Ensure exam rooms are clean, instruments sterile, and equipment functional according to established protocols. Education and Experience: - High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree accepted in lieu of diploma or GED. - Completion of an Ophthalmology Technician or Scribe program preferred, or 3-5 years of relevant clinical experience in an ophthalmology practice. This position offers a full-time schedule from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, supporting a collaborative and patient-focused environment in the regional healthcare community.
