Provides personal care such as bathing, skin care, turning and positioning, and toileting needs.
Assists patients with meals, ambulation and other activities of daily living (ADLs).
Obtains and documents vital signs and reports abnormal results to the patient's nurse.
Measures and records intake, output, height and weight.
Participates in hourly rounds on patients, assessing pain, positioning, potty (toileting needs), placement of personal items and call light within reach, and VTE prophylaxis in place. Matrix.
Responds promptly to patient needs
Maintains a safe, therapeutic environment by minimizing noise, protecting patient privacy, keeping patient rooms free of obstructions, and reporting damaged equipment
Follows fall'prevention protocols and uses Safe Patient Handling equipment as required, lifting no more than 35 pounds unassisted
Immediately reports adverse patient reactions to the nurse and intervenes when unsafe, illegal, or unauthorized care is observed
Adheres to universal precautions, including hand hygiene and required infection control or isolation measures
Actively participates in professional development by:
Communicating learning needs to the nurse or nurse manager Completing at least 9 hours of continuing education annually, in addition to mandatory education Attending a minimum of 75% of unit conferences annually
Assists with front desk functions, including scheduling support, answering phones, and patient check'in/check'out
Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Previous experience (Preferred) *RN students may be eligible to be considered for Student Nurse Technician opportunities. Students must be able to provide a copy of their college transcript showing successful completion of class requirements Benefits*
