POSITION SUMMARY: The Family Services Partner engages families of enrolled children in activities and services that support parents in their role as their child's primary teacher, promoting and sustaining children's learning, development, and long-term family well-being. This position partners with families to identify strengths, assess needs, and connect them with resources that support progress toward their goals for themselves and their children. The Family Services Partner collaborates with school staff and community agencies to coordinate and deliver services. The individual holding this position will work on a 12 month schedule and will need to travel locally to fulfill work-related responsibilities, including but not limited to home visits, classroom visits, and training events. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be needed for events and travel. Salary shall be compensated based on education level and years of experience. Additional compensation will be given for applicable licenses and certifications. QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent. Social services experience or education is preferred. Must have a current valid driver's license. Preferred Skills:
Experience working with families and children Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to work independently and as a team Basic competency of computer use and technology JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Implement family services delivery in accordance with Head Start Program Performance Standards , agency policies and procedures , and program goals and objectives. Protect the confidentiality and privacy of families' data. Follow FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) and HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations, as they pertain to the program.
Develop partnerships and positive relationships with families, school district personnel, and community agencies to promote positive child and family outcomes. Provide and document case management, including referrals and follow up actions, for children and families to support enrollment, family engagement, and health services.
Conduct home visits, as needed, with families for support and engagement. Assist with transitional activities into, within, and from the program. Report suspected or known child abuse/neglect, complying with applicable federal, state and local laws. Participate in training events, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities. Complete CPR/First Aid certification and renewals.Complete the family service credential within 18 months of hire. Positively promote Murray Head Start within the school district and community.
General office tasks. Other duties, as assigned.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: ERSEA (Eligibility, Recruitment, Selection, Enrollment, Attendance)
Support recruitment and enrollment of eligible children and families. Engage in recruitment efforts to increase interest in the program and to assist in building a waitlist or to fill vacancies within 30 days. Maintain attendance and support families facing attendance challenges, communicating with families and teaching staff, as needed.
FAMILY ENGAGEMENT
Collaborate with families to support their identified needs, interests, strengths, and goals. Coordinate referrals and follow-up services to ensure access to community resources that support each family's ongoing goals and needs. Develop, implement, and support family engagement, parent training, parent leadership activities, and volunteer opportunities. HEALTH & NUTRITION
Monitor children's health requirements and follow-ups within established timelines.
Provide ongoing communication with families about health, nutrition, and special needs. Collaborate with all necessary individuals to meet the needs of children with special dietary needs, allergies, and medical conditions. ADDITIONAL DUTIES FOR DESIGNATED LEAD STAFF
Oversee scheduling, supervision, and time tracking of designated staff. Manage and review comprehensive services data. Serve as point of contact for district and education staff.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES FOR DESIGNATED BILINGUAL POSITIONS Provide oral or written communication to each Spanish-speaking family regarding all aspects of the program.
Translate written program materials into Spanish. This will include newsletters, flyers, letters to parents, Parent Handbook, Community Resource list, training materials, and other necessary information. Establish a liaison with resources in the local community that can provide specific services to Spanish-speaking families.
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provision of the Board policy and Murray Head Start policy on Evaluation of Personnel. Physical exam, TB test / risk assessment, and background check are required for employment.
