Lead Maintenance Technician - Food Manufacturing Location: North Co. Dublin | Full-Time | Permanent The Company An established Irish-owned fresh food producer with a long-standing reputation for quality, innovation, and sustainability. Operating across multiple sites, the business supplies a wide range of fresh produce and prepared foods to leading retailers and food service partners nationwide. As part of the company's ongoing success, they now seek to hire a Lead Maintenance Technician. The Role We are seeking an experienced Lead Maintenance Technician with both electrical and mechanical expertise to lead the site maintenance function. This hands-on leadership role involves leading the maintenance team, ensuring optimal equipment performance, and delivering continuous improvement across facilities, machinery, and utilities. This role will provide a blend of working on the tools, carrying out maintenance works directly, as well as working off the tools, leading the maintenance function through planning and coordination of works and people. Key Responsibilities Lead all maintenance operations across the facility, ensuring minimal downtime and safe working conditions. Develop and implement preventative maintenance programmes and schedules. Oversee repairs, root cause analysis, and corrective actions. Manage contractors, budgets, spare parts, and service agreements. Support Capex, sustainability, and energy management projects. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across plant performance and reliability. Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and audit requirements. The Person Proven experience working in a lead, supervisory, or management role in a food, FMCG, or manufacturing environment is highly desired This role will also suit an experienced maintenance technician looking to take a step up in responsibility and hone their leadership skills Strong electrical and mechanical background; PLC, pneumatics, and automation experience desirable. Excellent planning, time management, and problem-solving skills. Trade qualification as an electrician, or maintenance fitter would suit this role well 3rd level in Engineering or a related discipline would be a distinct advantage Strong communication and vendor management abilities.
