Job Summary: Deliver exceptional healthcare services by utilizing radionuclides for diagnostic imaging, aiding licensed practitioners in patient diagnosis. This role involves performing nuclear medicine procedures with precision and professionalism. Essential Responsibilities:
Conduct nuclear medicine diagnostic tests for both inpatients and outpatients. Schedule all nuclear medicine procedures efficiently. Verify physician orders and prepare individualized dose sheets for each patient. Prepare and inspect radioactive doses, ensuring safety and accuracy before administration. Operate specialized nuclear medicine equipment, such as scintillation scanners, to measure radioactive isotope concentrations in targeted body areas. Handle radioactive tracers with strict adherence to safety protocols to prevent radiation overexposure. Communicate clearly with patients to explain procedures, alleviate concerns, and secure cooperation. Assist patients in positioning and adjust equipment accordingly for optimal imaging. Maintain confidentiality and accurate records of tests, results, isotope usage, and staff dosimetry. Ensure cleanliness and contamination-free conditions in rooms, equipment, and personnel. Participate actively in the Radiation Safety Committee and coordinate equipment maintenance. Document maintenance activities and contribute to quality assurance and improvement programs. Provide basic life support when necessary and pursue ongoing professional education. Adhere to all relevant policies and standards, including on-call duties to support technical needs outside regular hours. Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of at least a one-year program accredited by the American Medical Association in Nuclear Medicine Technology. Proficiency with computer systems. Licensure and Certifications:
Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) credential from the Society of Nuclear Medicine. State health board certification as required.
