The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Overview: The Registered Nurse provides nursing care in the health care system within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards and assures awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics. The RN assures safety in practice and is inclusive of the principles of evidence-based practice by maintaining a realization of own individual level of knowledge and experience and assumes responsibility for his/her own personal advancement. Responsible and accountable for the appropriate delegation of patient care to other members of the health care team. The RN is an individual practitioner and interdisciplinary team member integrating safety, quality and experience of care while individualizing the plan of care to address a specific patient's needs when providing care. Qualifications/Required:
Requires a minimum of one (1) year plus critical care experience, ED preferred ASN or Nursing Diploma is required; BSN is required within three (3) years of hire.
Required BLS through the American Heart Association upon hire ACLS Certification is required for ED within 6 months of hire. PALS Certification is required for ED within 6 months of hire.
Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License or active Compact Registered Nurse License with New Jersey endorsement is required.
:Scheduling Requirements
Day Shift, Full-Time, 36-hour Work Week
Four Weekend Shifts Per Month; Rotating Holidays
Essential Functions:
The Registered Nurse provides nursing care in the health care system within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards and assures awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics. The Registered Nurse assures safety in practice and is inclusive of the principles of evidence-based practice by maintaining a realization of his/her own individual level of knowledge and experience and assumes responsibility for advancing knowledge of self and others in the patient care team by communication with and utilizing resource persons and programs available. The Registered Nurse is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors. The Registered Nurse is responsible for knowledge of the patient population served. The Registered Nurse is responsible for supervising and directing the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborates with other patient care providers. The Registered Nurse is responsible for consistently setting and evaluating priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement. The Registered Nurse is an individual practitioner and an interdisciplinary team manager, who utilizes the nursing process to integrate all aspects of the provision of care and individualizes the plan of care to address a specific patient's needs.
