Purpose of Role The Onboarding - Business & Data Analyst is responsible for driving process improvement, data transparency, and controlled change within the Onboarding function. This role combines traditional business analysis with data analytics, management information (MI) ownership, training support, and procedural governance. The individual will serve as the connective layer between Onboarding, Compliance, Financial Crime, Technology, Operations, and Front Office to ensure onboarding processes are efficient, measurable, and continuously improving. Marex has unique access across markets with significant share globally both on and off exchange. The depth of knowledge amongst its teams and divisions provides its customers with clear advantage, and its technology-led service provides access to all major exchanges, order-flow management via screen, voice and DMA, plus award-winning data, insights, and analytics. The US Onboarding team is responsible for facilitating the account opening process across a number of different entities in the United States. The team will work with brokers or client services to gather the proper documentation and configuring the client’s static data within People Soft and other applicable systems.
Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Process Design
Gather and document business requirements for onboarding enhancements.
Create Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) and review Functional Spec Designs (FSDs).
Map current and future state workflows.
Identify process inefficiencies and bottlenecks.
Support UAT and implementation of system changes.
Partner with Technology on system integrations and automation initiatives.
Data & MI Ownership
Design and maintain onboarding dashboards (SLA, turnaround time, exception rates, rework, bottlenecks).
Build reporting via Power BI, Excel, Power Automate, or equivalent tools.
Develop KPI frameworks aligned to regulatory and operational objectives.
Provide data-driven insights to senior stakeholders.
Support regulatory and management reporting needs.
Continuous Improvement & Transformation
Document improvement initiatives and maintain an enhancement backlog.
Conduct root cause analysis on recurring issues.
Propose automation and STP opportunities.
Track benefits realization and performance improvement.
Change Management & Training
Support rollout of new onboarding processes or system updates.
Develop training materials and user guides.
Deliver training sessions as needed.
Ensure adoption and alignment across global teams.
Procedures & Governance
Maintain onboarding procedures and control documentation.
Ensure updates reflect regulatory obligations (CDD, AML, jurisdictional requirements, etc.).
Support audit inquiries and control testing.
Ensure alignment between documented procedures and actual process execution.
General Responsibilities
All employees are expected to understand and comply with any Sarbanes Oxley operational requirements relevant to their role.
Ensuring compliance with the company’s regulatory requirements under the SEC, FINRA, NFA, CFTC and other applicable exchanges.

Required Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, or related field is required.
At least two to three (2 to 3) years in Business Analysis, Operations, or Onboarding within a financial services firm.
Experienced working with data and reporting capability (Excel Advanced, Power BI, and/or SQL preferred).
Experience with workflow automation tools (Power Automate or similar).
Strong business understanding of KYC / AML onboarding processes would be strongly preferred.
Ability to translate business requirements into technical solution.
Experience working cross-functionally with Compliance, Technology, and Operations.
Strong documentation and presentation skills.
Experience working in a regulated environment and knowledge of the risk and compliance requirements associated with this.
Preferred
Exposure to regulatory frameworks (FinCEN CDD, FCA, MAS, etc.).
Experience in global broker-dealer or multi-jurisdictional environment.
Lean / Six Sigma exposure.
Experience with onboarding platforms or client lifecycle tools.
Salary Range: $70,000 to $90,000 per year and eligible for discretionary bonus.
