Location : Remote
Submission Instructions (Critical)
Only submit candidates who:
Currently hold DP 300 and AZ 900 certifications , and
Provide validated Microsoft Learn credential share links
with their submission.
Primary Responsibilities
1) Azure DBA Operations (O&M / Production Support)
Provide day-to-day operational DBA support for CT Azure database workloads, including proactive monitoring, incident response, and performance stabilization.
Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and cost optimization (right-sizing) for Azure SQL workloads.
Improve monitoring and alerting by reducing noise, tuning thresholds, and enhancing actionable alerts and dashboards.
Automate DBA operational tasks such as backup retention workflows, job history logging, and alert routing/response workflows.
2) Hybrid Support
On-Prem Databases (During Migration Window)
Provide operational support and security maintenance for remaining on prem databases until migrations are completed.
Support feature work and release readiness for legacy systems, including deployment support, change validation, and release-related DBA tasks.
3) Migration Delivery (On-Prem
Azure SQL Managed Instance)
Execute and support database migrations to Azure SQL Managed Instance, ensuring reliability, performance parity, and cutover readiness.
Partner with application teams and platform stakeholders to plan, coordinate, and implement migration activities and post-migration stabilization.
4) Security, Compliance, and Audit Readiness
Implement and validate database security hardening aligned with audit and regulatory requirements.
Support CyberArk integration and privileged access management compliance activities.
Drive/enable PHI safeguards, including PHI de-identification and related compliance readiness work.
5) Cloud Disaster Recovery (DR) & Resilience
Validate and test Azure DR strategies for CT database workloads to meet business continuity objectives.
Support DR documentation, validation evidence, and operational procedures aligned with CT recovery expectations.
6) Continuous Improvement / DBA Initiatives
Evaluate and improve tooling for database performance analytics and automation.
Support schema governance, database parity initiatives, and broader modernization efforts.
Required Qualifications
Senior-level DBA experience
supporting Microsoft SQL Server workloads in production environments (strong O&M focus).
Hands-on experience administering and tuning Azure SQL Managed Instance.
Proven experience operating in
regulated environments , including security controls, audit support, and compliance execution.
Strong experience with
backup/restore strategies, retention policies, automation, monitoring, and alerting .
Demonstrated ability to support
hybrid migrations
(on prem to Azure) including cutover and post-migration stabilization.
Required Certifications (Must Be Current):
DP 300: Administering Microsoft Azure SQL Solutions
AZ 900: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals
Certification Verification Requirement:
Candidates
must provide verified Microsoft Learn credential profiles
confirming DP 300 and AZ 900 certifications.
Profiles must be shareable and validated via:
Submissions without verified Microsoft Learn profile links will not be reviewed.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting
CyberArk
or other privileged access management platforms for database environments.
Experience implementing or supporting
PHI de-identification
initiatives and audit readiness activities.
Familiarity with
Azure DR planning, validation, and evidence generation .
Exposure to
PostgreSQL environments
is a plus as part of CT modernization efforts.
Key Deliverables / Success Measures
Improved production stability through proactive monitoring, alerting optimization, and performance management of Azure SQL workloads.
Successful execution and stabilization of on prem to Azure database migrations.
Security controls implemented and audit-ready (hardening, CyberArk integration, PHI safeguards).
DR validation activities completed with supporting documentation and evidence.
Increased operational coverage and resiliency for the CT DBA function.
Work Environment & Collaboration
Collaborate closely with CT application teams, platform engineering, and stakeholders to support migrations, releases, and operational priorities.
Act as a senior operational partner providing stabilization, mentorship, and dependable DBA coverage across environments.
