Corporate Counsel The role of Corporate Counsel contributes to our growing in‑house legal team and works on complex issues in a dynamic and fast‑paced environment. This position reports to the Associate General Counsel. Corporate Counsel provides legal advice and counsel to operating teams throughout the organization on a broad range of topics related to the company’s business and operations.

Position Summary This role is offered on a fully remote basis allowing the Corporate Counsel to be based anywhere in the country.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Serves as a subject matter expert on legal issues arising from day‑to‑day operations, identifies legal risks, and develops proactive compliance.
Provides strategic and tactical advice and counsel on a wide variety of operational, contracting, and transactional matters, working with key leaders to help identify and mitigate legal issues and assist in crafting solutions to protect the company’s interests.
Conducts legal research and analysis to provide recommendations and prepares written opinions and guidance for management teams and other internal personnel.
Drafts, reviews, and where appropriate, helps negotiate agreements, including contracts with partners, health insurance companies or other third‑party payor organizations, vendors, and governmental entities.
Assists other company attorneys, compliance teammates, and business partners in spotting and resolving legal, regulatory and compliance matters to ensure activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing the business.
Assists in the representation of AMSURG and its affiliates in informal dispute resolution processes and mediation, as well as administrative proceedings before governmental or regulatory bodies.
Assists with special projects and performs other job‑related duties as required.
Acts as a liaison between management and internal or external legal experts on matters beyond AMSURG Corporate Counsel’s core substantive expertise.
Demonstrates commitment to the company’s corporate compliance program, policies, and procedures by exhibiting the company values and acting in accordance with any reporting policies of the company.

Education/Experience
Licensed Attorney holding a J.D.
5+ years’ experience in a healthcare environment.
