Job Description Join the top tier of research analysts at Nesbitt & Parrinello, where your expertise will shape strategies for the most critical Democratic campaigns and progressive organizations of the election cycle. As a Research Analyst 3, you’ll serve as a senior researcher and subject matter expert, leading complex projects and mentoring the next generation of researchers.
All opportunities are remote and employees are required to live and work in the United States. Research Analyst 3 is a Non‑Exempt temporary election cycle position that ends on November 10, 2026, after the U.S. general election. Interviews will be held in February 2026 with an anticipated start date between February 16 and March 2, 2026.
Salary/Wage Range:
$30‑40/hour
What You’ll Do
Leading and executing complex, multi‑faceted research projects with minimal oversight
Serving as a subject‑matter expert in specialized research areas (e.g., campaign finance, corporate research, vetting)
Conducting advanced analysis and developing strategic research recommendations for clients
Mentoring and providing technical guidance to junior and mid‑level researchers
Contributing to research methodology development and quality assurance processes
Managing relationships with clients on technical research matters
Identifying research innovations and efficiency improvements
What We’re Looking For
Deep commitment to progressive politics and proven track record supporting Democratic campaigns
2–4 years of experience in opposition research, investigative journalism, or related research‑intensive fields
Expert proficiency with boolean search tools and professional research databases (e.g., LexisNexis, Thomson Reuters, Westlaw)
Exceptional analytical skills with ability to synthesize complex information into strategic insights
Outstanding writing skills with proven ability to produce publication‑quality research deliverables
Demonstrated leadership in mentoring researchers and improving team processes
Strong project‑management skills with experience handling multiple high‑stakes concurrent projects
Subject‑matter expertise in one or more specialized research areas
Experience collaborating effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
Advanced technical skills including Git, Markdown, data analysis tools, or research automation
Flexibility and resilience during high‑pressure campaign periods with unconventional work hours
Requirements
