The Regional Openings & Conversions Project Lead executes end‑to‑end project management for hotel openings, conversions, managed‑to‑franchise transitions, and de‑flags across the Americas. The role drives projects from execution through operational handover at opening, developing pre‑opening roadmaps, managing critical timelines, coordinating cross‑functional workstreams, and maintaining strong partnerships with owners, operators, and Hyatt stakeholders. Responsibilities
Oversee complete project lifecycle for hotel openings, conversions, managed‑to‑franchise transitions, and de‑flags, ensuring operational and commercial readiness. Act as primary point of contact for owners, developers, operators, and internal stakeholders throughout the pre‑opening period. Build and maintain long‑term relationships with owners and operators, focusing on repeat business and growth opportunities. Develop, implement, and communicate comprehensive pre‑opening plans, establish key milestones, manage interdependencies, and ensure effective cross‑functional coordination. Deliver on‑site training and guidance during opening week. Provide operational guidance to owners and operators during pre‑opening and transition phases to meet brand standards. Monitor project progress and readiness, recommend timelines, assess risks, and recommend mitigation strategies; raise issues requiring senior decisions. Apply independent judgment to identify and mitigate risks, resolve issues, and drive successful execution within governance frameworks. Scope & Project Load
Average portfolio of approximately 17 active projects. Approximately 12 additional projects in design concurrently. Regular travel to support projects across the Americas (≈ 50 %). Qualifications
Minimum 10 years progressive management experience in hotel operations or related disciplines with proven project delivery. Experience managing complex, multi‑stakeholder initiatives with emphasis on owner/operator relationships. Experience overseeing and managing owners’ expectations at property or regional/corporate level. Certification in Hospitality or related field preferred. Project Management professional certification preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with Hyatt operational systems. Advanced project management, planning, and execution skills across multiple concurrent initiatives. Strong communication, influence, and stakeholder‑management capabilities. Ability to synthesize inputs, identify risks, and translate insights into actionable plans. Self‑starter with ability to work remotely. Strong organizational skills and ability to communicate effectively, including holding difficult conversations with owners and operators. High level of organization, time management, and adaptability in fast‑paced environment. Benefits
