Med-Trans Corporation is seeking a skilled VFR Helicopter Pilot Med-Trans EG to support critical patient transport within our Healthcare & Medical Services industry, serving the Emergency Services department. As a key member of the air medical team, you will safely operate company helicopters under VFR to provide rapid air transport for critically ill or injured patients between hospitals and from emergency scenes, ensuring timely access to advanced medical care. You will conduct all flight operations with a safety-first mindset, strictly adhering to FAA regulations, Med-Trans policies, and partner hospital protocols while working closely with flight nurses, paramedics, communications centers, and ground crews.
In this role, you will perform thorough pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight duties, including weather evaluation, flight planning, performance calculations, fuel management, risk assessment, aircraft inspections, and accurate documentation of all flight activities. You will maintain constant situational awareness, exercise strong aeronautical decision-making, and apply sound judgement to go/no-go decisions to protect patients, medical crews, and the communities we serve. You will be responsible for operating and caring for a modern helicopter fleet, reporting and addressing maintenance issues promptly, and ensuring the aircraft is mission-ready at all times.
The VFR Helicopter Pilot Med-Trans EG will participate in regular training, check rides, and simulation-based exercises to maintain proficiency in emergency procedures, air medical operations, and company safety programs. You will engage actively in Med-Trans’ culture of safety and innovation by contributing to safety briefings, hazard reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. Collaboration and clear communication with the medical crew and dispatch are essential, as you coordinate safe loading and unloading of patients, select appropriate landing zones, and manage approaches and departures in diverse environments, including hospitals, rural sites, and challenging terrain.
