About The Role We’re looking for a paid UX Research & Data Analyst intern to join our Digital Platforms & User Experience team for the summer on a part‑time basis as class work allows. The internship combines user research (≈75%) and data analytics (≈25%) with the goal of delivering actionable insights and visualizations that improve online self‑service, operational efficiency, and the user experience for more than 6 million federal employees, military personnel, and their families.
Internship Details Hours per week : Summer (flexible with school year start/end dates) – 30 hrs/week. Hybrid with two days a week in our Portsmouth, NH office. Flexible hybrid options available, per student’s schedule.
About the Team The Digital Platforms & User Experience department designs and researches customer‑facing self‑service websites for FedPoint. It balances customer needs, business objectives, compliance, and best practices, while delivering data insights that inform product roadmaps and strategic decisions.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with UX Design, Data Analytics, and Customer Service to understand the goals and needs of website users.
Extract and analyze data from multi‑channel customer activity to identify trends, understand profiles, and document improvement opportunities.
Deliver data‑informed insights, visualizations, dashboards, and reports.
Monitor website traffic, user behavior, and performance metrics.
Assist in implementing UX KPIs across websites to support data‑informed decision making.
Support the development of research participant recruitment strategy, including identification, screening, and scheduling.
Observe and assist with usability tests, interviews, and other qualitative research sessions.
Conduct small research projects, synthesize findings, and build clear report‑outs.
Assist other teams on cross‑functional data initiatives.
Qualifications
Rising junior, senior, or graduate student with studies in UX, data analytics, research, technology, or a related field.
Strong attention to detail and follow‑through.
Passion for data, research, and using research/data‑informed decision making to improve customer experience.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to interpret data and analytics.
