We are seeking a meticulous and organized Receiving Clerk to join our logistics team in Kansas City, Missouri. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming shipments, responsible for accurately checking in, inspecting, and documenting all goods received. Your attention to detail will be crucial in maintaining inventory integrity and ensuring that all deliveries match purchase orders. This position requires a strong commitment to safety and efficiency in handling incoming logistics. You will work closely with various departments to ensure a smooth flow of materials into the warehouse. The ideal candidate is dependable, possesses excellent record-keeping skills, and understands the importance of proper handling procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming freight from various carriers.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders, invoices, and other documentation.
- Inspect shipments for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Accurately record all incoming inventory into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Tag and prepare goods for distribution within the warehouse.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Communicate any issues or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, inventory control, or warehouse operations preferred.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and data entry.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting (up to 40 lbs).
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Understanding of safety procedures in a logistics environment.
- Must wear required PPE, including safety vests and work boots.
