We are seeking a skilled Shipping Clerk for our operations in Portland, Oregon! As a Shipping Clerk, you will be responsible for overseeing the smooth and efficient dispatch of all outgoing shipments. Your key duties will include preparing shipping documents, coordinating with freight carriers, ensuring accurate labeling, and maintaining meticulous records of all shipments. This role is central to our logistics department, requiring exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. You will play a vital part in ensuring our products reach their destinations accurately and on time. We prioritize safety in our workplace and provide all necessary PPE. This is an excellent opportunity for career growth within the logistics industry. Responsibilities include:
- Generating and affixing accurate shipping labels and documentation.
- Coordinating with various shipping carriers (e.g., LTL, FTL, parcel services).
- Verifying shipment details against order requirements and ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Maintaining up-to-date shipping logs and databases.
- Communicating effectively with internal departments and external carriers regarding shipment status.
- Ensuring packages are properly packaged and secured for transit.
- Assisting with general warehouse duties, including occasional lifting, as needed.
- Strictly adhering to all safety protocols and company policies.
While direct manual labor is not the primary focus, occasional lifting may be required. A strong commitment to safety and the proper use of PPE is essential. This position is crucial for the efficiency of our logistics and supply chain management. Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role is highly preferred.
