SimoTech has an excellent opportunity for an experienced OEM Automation Engineer with Siemens expertise to join our team supporting our client in County Dublin on a major site expansion project. This role offers the chance to work on advanced automation technologies in a world-class biopharmaceutical manufacturing environment.


The OEM Automation Engineer will be responsible for design, , troubleshooting, and lifecycle support of automation systems, with a strong focus on Siemens platforms. The successful candidate will work on clean utility systems, ensuring compliance with GMP and regulatory standards while supporting integration with enterprise systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide automation guidance and expertise to multi-disciplinary project team executing projects on Vial/Syringe Filling Lines, Packaging and Production environments from design through commissioning and start up.
  • Design and troubleshoot Siemens PLCs and HMI’s.
  • Support integration of automation systems with MES and PCS.
  • Develop and review User Requirement Specifications, Functional Design Specifications, and other engineering documentation.
  • Manage day-to-day interactions with Clean Utilities OEM Vendors including technical oversight.
  • Execute IOQ protocols and support start up v activities in compliance with GAMP and 21 CFR Part 11.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure robust automation solutions for Clean Utilities.
  • Ensure adherence to corporate automation standards and blueprint requirements while aligning with local business needs.
  • Maintain compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations throughout project execution.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering, Biotech Engineering, Physics & Instrumentation, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years’ experience in automation engineering within biopharmaceutical or GMP-regulated environments.
  • Proven expertise in Siemens PLCs with experience in HMI and SCADA systems.
  • Experience of working with Clean Utilities equipment.
  • Strong knowledge of GAMP lifecycle, ANSI/ISA-S88 and S95 standards, and 21 CFR Part 11/Annex 11.
  • Working knowledge of network architecture technologies including TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewalls, and domain integration.
  • Excellent technical writing, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work on-site at least 3 days per week. xcfaprz
