Production Assistant-Label Manufacturing

The Press Helper supports daily production operations by assisting press operators with setup, material handling, quality checks, 

and maintenance tasks. Press helper mounts plates, mag cylinders, cleans plates, mixes inks, and retrieves material. 

This position also maintains the core cutter.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist press operators with setup, changeovers, and shutdown of printing presses
• Load and unload rolls, sheets, inks, plates, and other materials as needed
• Prepare and stage materials according to job specifications
• Monitor print quality and notify operator of defects, misprints, or inconsistencies
• Maintain cleanliness of press area, including routine cleaning of equipment and workspaces
• Dispose of waste materials and assist with recycling procedures
• Follow all safety, quality, and production procedures at all times
• Perform basic maintenance tasks as directed (cleaning rollers, wiping plates, etc.)
• Support continuous improvement efforts and team productivity

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
• Basic mechanical aptitude
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Willingness to learn printing processes and equipment

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 70 lbs 
• Frequent bending, reaching, and handling of materials
• Comfortable working around machinery, noise, and ink/chemical odors

Work Environment

• Manufacturing / production floor
• Exposure to moving machinery, inks, solvents, and paper materials
• PPE required (safety glasses, gloves, etc.)

Schedule

• Full-time 
• Scheduled Hours: Mon-Fri   6am-4pm
• Overtime as required

Compensation 

• Hourly rate: $18.00 – $ 22.00
