Pre-construction: Planning and Permits Coordinator (Co-op)
Term: Starting May 2026
TERM: 4 Month Term Preferred
Key Responsibilities:
Municipal Approvals & SPA Support
- Assist in preparing and submitting Site Plan Approval (SPA) applications
- Review municipal zoning by-laws and Official Plans for project compliance
- Track approval timelines, conditions, and agency comments
- Coordinate submission materials (drawings, reports, forms) with architects and consultants
- Support responses to municipal comments and revisions
Permitting & Regulatory Coordination
- Assist with building permit submissions and tracking
- Communicate with municipal planning and building departments
- Support clearance of conditions for building permit issuance
- Maintain records of permits, approvals, and inspection milestones
Research & Analysis
- Conduct planning policy and zoning research across multiple municipalities
- Summarize municipal requirements and identify risks or constraints
- Prepare internal briefing notes for project managers
Project & Team Support
- Attend meetings with municipal staff, consultants, and internal teams
- Take meeting minutes and track action items
- Maintain organized digital project files and approval logs
- Assist in improving internal approval tracking systems
- Assist in creating a database for us on submission requirements per municipality as well as city contacts
Qualifications:
- A full-time student enrolled in a related post-secondary program of study (i.e. Urban Planning, Regional Planning or master's in planning)
- Or be a new graduate from a related program of study who completed studies in 2026.
- Experience with Microsoft Project and Microsoft Excel would be an asset

Pay Range: $21 - $26 / hour (depending on previous experience)
Location: Office based role in Mississauga with travel to different sites in Ontario.
