• Detecting and questioning people suspected of violating immigration laws by inspecting documents and possessions.
• Preventing aliens from entering or leaving the country through surveillance operations using infrared scopes at night.
• Maintaining contact with informants while analyzing information rapidly to make prompt decisions.

• Fully trained BPA may be eligible for up to an additional 25% base pay under the BPA Pay Reform Act of 2014.​​
