We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Customs Officer to join our team. As a Customs Officer, you will be responsible for enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws and regulations.

Typical assignments include conducting inspections of individuals and conveyances, determining the admissibility of individuals for entry into the United States, preventing the illegal entry of individuals and prohibited goods, and smuggling of illegal drugs and other contraband.

• A minimum of one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level that includes detaining suspected violators of federal state or local laws arresting violators using proper law enforcement methods enforcing laws relating importing exporting international shipping determining appropriate course action based on information gathered during interviews ability make rapid accurate judgments decisions applying regulations instructions procedures import export merchandise appropriately assigning duty locations establishing foreign relationships facilitating trade commerce promoting economic growth maintaining public trust ensuring effective use resources maximizing efficiency minimizing risks
