About the Position

Customs and Border Protection Officers are key members of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security workforce, responsible for safeguarding our nation's borders and protecting American interests.

This challenging role involves enforcing customs, immigration, and agriculture laws; facilitating trade and travel; conducting inspections; determining admissibility; preventing illicit activity, including smuggling contraband.

• Demonstrates strong analytical skills to identify potential threats;


• Licenses possession or experience with firearms;


• Has excellent communication skills to effectively interact with people from diverse backgrounds;


• Certifies completion of a pre-academy orientation program & CBP Field Operations Academy training;

The position requires successful candidates to be referred prior reaching 40th birthday in accordance public law provisions as well department directive The age restriction does not apply Veterans' Preference eligibles.
The position may also receive excepted service Veterans Recruitment Appointment (VRA) eligible.
