Medical Billing Specialist

Job Summary
We're on the lookout for a friendly and experienced Medical Billing Specialist to join our MMP team If you enjoy paying close attention to details and have a knack for handling billing processes smoothly, we'd love to hear from you. Your role will involve managing billing, making sure coding is accurate, and helping us get timely reimbursements from insurance companies. It's important to have a good understanding of medical billing, coding systems, and medical records to support our practice's financial health. As part of our team, you'll help us stay compliant with healthcare regulations and work towards making our revenue cycle as efficient as possible.

Duties

• Review medical records and documentation to ensure proper coding and billing accuracy.
• Follow up on unpaid or denied claims through medical collection processes.
• Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility using EMR/EHR systems.
• Maintain detailed records of billing activities and correspondence with insurance providers.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation for proper coding and billing.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and billing guidelines.
• Reconcile accounts receivable and assist in resolving billing discrepancies.
• Stay updated on changes in medical coding standards and billing practices.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in medical billing, medical coding, or related roles within a healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of DRG, CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10 coding, and medical terminology.
• Familiarity with EMR systems, EHR systems, and medical records management.
• Experience with medical collection processes and insurance claim submission procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure accuracy in billing and coding.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations related to billing and coding compliance.
