Christine Santos LLC Microschool is seeking passionate, knowledgeable Brazilian Portuguese educators to join our team on the Outschool platform. We provide high-quality, engaging, and interactive language education tailored to students at different proficiency levels.

We are looking for dedicated Portuguese instructors to teach preschool to 2nd Grade at all levels—from beginner to advanced.

Ideal candidates will have:

• A strong background in Portuguese language instruction (teaching, tutoring, immersion programs, translation, or a related field).
• A passion for interactive, conversation-based learning that makes Portuguese accessible and enjoyable for students.
• Experience teaching grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and cultural aspects of Brazil.

Our Teaching Philosophy

We believe in a student-centered, interactive approach to language learning that focuses on real communication, engagement, and cultural understanding.

We do not want:

Lecture-heavy lessons where students are passive listeners.
PDF-based lessons without engagement.
Memorization drills without meaningful application.

We expect:

Immersive, conversation-driven lessons with real-world applications.
Interactive activities that help students think, speak, and write in Portuguese.

Available Courses

Our Portuguese language courses will be structured by age and skill level to provide the best learning experience. Instructors can apply for one or more levels:

• Intro to Portuguese Grammar & Conversation (Basic sentence structure, pronunciation, and speaking practice)
• Portuguese 1, 2, 3, and Advanced Spanish (Grammar, reading, writing, and speaking progression)

Teaching Format & Expectations

Classes meet once per week for 30
Small group sizes (maximum of 10 learners) for personalized instruction
Lessons should be highly interactive with games, discussions, and real-world applications

We are not looking for traditional lecture-based teaching. Lessons should focus on engaging students in conversation, comprehension, and meaningful language use.

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver interactive virtual lessons tailored to students' levels.
Provide constructive feedback on student progress.
Communicate with parents by providing class updates and individualized feedback after each session.
Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that builds student confidence.
Adapt lesson materials as needed to support different learning styles and proficiency levels.

Qualifications

Fluency in Portuguese (native or near-native proficiency)
Experience teaching Portuguese (online or in-person) preferred
Strong understanding of Portuguese grammar, conversation skills, and cultural topics
Ability to create engaging, interactive, and structured lessons
Reliable internet connection & virtual teaching experience

Compensation & Work Schedule

Group classes pay $10-$30 per 30-minute session, based on class size:

• 1 learner → $10 per session ($20/hour)
• 2 learners → $15 per session ($30/hour)
• 3 learners → $20 per session ($40/hour)
• 4 learners → $25 per session ($50/hour)
• 5 learners → $30 per session ($60/hour)
• 6 learners → $35 per session ($70/hour)
• 7 learners → $40 per session ($80/hour)
• 8 learners → $45 per session ($90/hour)
• 9 learners → $50 per session ($100/hour)
• 10 learners → $55 per session ($110/hour)

1:1 sessions:

• $20 for 30 minutes
• $40 for 60 minutes

Hiring Process

Application Submission – Complete all application questions to be considered.
Video Introduction – Submit a short video introducing yourself and your teaching style.
Mock Class – Teach a sample class, assign homework, and provide feedback.
Onboarding & Training – Background check, ID verification, contract signing.
Policies & Scheduling Meeting – Final onboarding step covering expectations.
