Overview
We need out Personal Care Aides (PCAs) to provide high-quality care to residents in various long-term care settings, including assisted living, nursing homes, and home & community care environments. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with diverse needs, including seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, and those requiring memory or dementia care. Prior experience in senior care, Alzheimer's or dementia care, medication administration, and working with EMR systems is highly valued. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through personalized caregiving and support.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature
- Administer medications following prescribed protocols and document accurately using EMR systems
- Support residents with memory care needs, including Alzheimer's and dementia care strategies
- Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts safely and effectively
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to residents' dietary requirements and assist with feeding as needed
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks
- Provide emotional support and companionship to residents to promote social engagement and well-being
- Follow all safety procedures, including first aid protocols, to ensure resident safety at all times
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and team members to develop personalized care plans
Qualifications
- Prior experience in senior care, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care preferred
- Knowledge of ADLs assistance, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and dementia or Alzheimer's care
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities or behavioral management is a plus
- Ability to operate EMR systems for documentation purposes
- Valid driver's license for driving responsibilities if required by the role
- Certification in first aid is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification if necessary
- Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach to caregiving
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; some roles may require working evenings or weekends depending on the facility's needs
