facilities maintenance technician

JOB PURPOSE

The Midwestern Campus is a source of great pride for those attending and/or working in and around the facilities. The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks in one or more fields (e.g., carpentry, electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, etc.) for the preservation and upkeep of the buildings and campus grounds. The position may be required to perform general cleaning and other tasks as assigned. In addition, the technicians may be required to assist other departments as determined by the Director of Campus Operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Maintaining all building systems, including electrical, lighting, HVAC, plumbing and others as needed or as assigned.

Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC and construction are helpful but not required.

Duties may include, however are not limited to:

• Repair, maintain/monitor all equipment and amenities
• Clean windows and glass doors
• Prepare classrooms for incoming classes; remove or rearrange furniture for events or classes, as needed
• Change light ballasts and/or light bulbs, interior and exterior, as needed
• Make ready all public use areas, conference rooms, offices, and Chapel as needed.
• On call maintenance for all facilities, 24/7
• Assist with maintenance of exterior property, including snow removal
• Assist with all show installs/removals
• Electrical, plumbing, HVAC repairs as necessary
• Complete assigned work orders by performing general building maintenance and repairs
• Complete preventative maintenance on equipment and premises
• Assist in stocking, unloading and delivery of supplies
• Maintain clean work environment
• Equipment repair and maintenance
• Assist vendors during preventative maintenance or repair
• Perform other reasonable tasks as assigned
• Performs other work related duties as assigned
• May be required to work flexible hours
