The position is located is Los Angeles and currently required to work onsite 4 days per week, with remote work from home on Fridays.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Leadership of the IT infrastructure (cloud, data centers, servers, storage, virtualization, etc.), security, network and service / help desk team. This position will have managers / supervisors and other team members as direct reports.
Technical advisor to the Head of IT and business application staff. Expected to stay current on the latest technology trends and innovation.
Overall responsibility for day-to-day operations, monitoring the infrastructure and ensuring system availability 24x7x365.
Identifying, hiring and mentoring the talent necessary to properly staff the IT Operations organization.
Leadership of strategic and tactical decisions related to security, virtualization, storage, backups, wireless, telecom, infrastructure, business continuity and other systems as needed.
Managing third party vendors and external contract and/or vendor resources.
Guidance and support for the IT business application team.
Overall ownership of operational issues, ensuring production problems are rapidly addressed and resolved. These work efforts may extend beyond the course of standard business hours in order to minimize disruption.
Responsibility for availability, capacity and security of hybrid and in-house data centers.
Oversight of network services including provisioning, management of data lines and SD-WAN administration.
Implementing ITSM / ITIL, PMI and industry best practices to ensure a professional IT operation.
Thorough documentation of and adherence to policies and standard operating procedures.
Providing strategic direction for and ensuring appropriate management of IT security, cyber risks and tools to maintain a secure infrastructure.
Developing and managing regular professional business communications to apprise system users of planned maintenance, outages, system changes, security guidelines, system training, etc.
Providing direction for the management of IT help desk tickets using metrics, target service levels, workflow escalations, exception analysis, CSAT surveys, etc.
Leading individual team members and managers in a cross-functional, matrixed environment with focus on strong mentorship and development.
Assessing IT Operations' functions, defining improvement plans and developing project roadmaps to enhance and standardize capabilities.
Developing financial budgets with capital / expense plans, and tracking overall expenditures to ensure cost effective operations. Creating and tracking ROI for relevant project investments.
QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or other discipline combined with directly relevant, practical experience.
10+ years' experience in IT infrastructure, operations, security, help desk and architecture across diverse technologies including cloud, server, storage, network, workstation and mobile technologies.
4+ years' experience managing an IT operations / infrastructure organization of at least 6 people.
TECHNOLOGY SKILLS
Extensive hands-on experience with IT service management / help desk tools such as ServiceNow.
Deep knowledge of security processes for endpoints, MFA, servers, network routers / firewalls, data centers, email, internet, applications, cloud, etc.
Practical experience with best-in-class security tools from Microsoft, Fortinet, Darktrace, Proofpoint, Nessus Pro, Crowdstrike, Palo Alto and others is essential.
Expert in designing, managing and implementing Microsoft technologies such as Azure, 365, Teams, SharePoint, AD / Entra ID, WSUS, etc.
Understanding of and experience with NetApp storage and VMWare virtualization.
Use of mobile device management technologies (e.g., MobileIron) and processes to enable appropriate controls for distributed devices.
Significant knowledge of Fortinet (or equivalent) switching and routing hardware, VPN, firewall, web filtering, etc.
Experience with wireless access points and remote access.
Practical use of cloud technologies (Azure, AWS, IaaS, etc.) and business application support.
Knowledge of IBM AS/400 hardware operations and support a plus.
Proficient in MS 365 applications and other productivity tools.
COMMUNICATION AND LEADERSHIP SKILLS
Ability to read, interpret and summarize technical documentation and procedures.
Strong writing, content development and correspondence skills. Ability to present and speak effectively in meetings, with content tailored to the audience.
Demonstrated ability to attract and retain superior information technology talent.
Experience with project management techniques, methodologies and best practices supported by practical execution. Formal training a plus.
Experience leading organizations that support a 24x7x365 environment.
Proven ability to lead managers / supervisors toward both tactical and strategic goals.
Solid vendor management and contract resource management are required.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as production rates, discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to work with measurements. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
