Part-Time Eye Care Technician

Job Overview
Tarr Eye & Vision Center (TEAVC) is growing, and we're looking for an experienced, patient-focused Eye Care Technician to join our team 3–4 days per week.

Established in 2003, TEAVC has proudly served Jefferson County and the greater East Tennessee region for over 20 years. We are a well-respected, modern optometric practice known for excellent patient care, a supportive team culture, and long-term relationships with our patients.

What You'll Do

This is a dynamic, hands-on role that blends clinical support with optical sales and front desk assistance:

• Perform patient workups (pre-testing, history, diagnostics)
• Assist doctors during exams as needed
• Optical sales: frame styling, lens recommendations, and order processing
• Contact lens education, sales, and ordering
• Occasional reception duties including scheduling, check-in/out, and phone support
• Create a welcoming, efficient, and professional patient experience

What We're Looking For

• 2 years of experience preferred in an Optometry or Ophthalmology office
• Comfortable with both clinical and optical responsibilities
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Sales-minded, but patient-first
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and a team player
• Experience with EHR and optical systems is a plus
