About the Role:
The Recovery Services Director plays a critical role in overseeing and optimizing the recovery operations within the organization to ensure timely and efficient resolution of outstanding accounts and assets. This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategic recovery plans that align with company goals while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. The manager leads a team of recovery specialists, providing guidance, training, and performance management to maximize recovery rates and minimize losses. Collaboration with internal departments such as legal, finance, and customer service is essential to address complex recovery cases and improve overall processes. Ultimately, the Recovery Services Manager ensures that recovery efforts contribute positively to the company's financial health and customer relationships.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in recovery services, collections, or a related financial operations role.
- Proven experience managing teams and driving performance in a recovery or collections environment.
- Strong knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing debt recovery and collections in the United States.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Experience with recovery management software and data analytics tools.
- Certification in credit and collections management (e.g., Certified Credit and Collection Professional).
- Experience working in a regulated industry such as banking, insurance, or healthcare.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change management initiatives and process improvements.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and monitor recovery strategies and policies to improve collection rates and reduce delinquency.
- Manage and lead a team of recovery specialists, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
- Analyze recovery data and metrics to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for process improvements.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, and finance teams to ensure recovery activities adhere to regulatory standards and company policies.
