Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support clinical operations across various specialties, including dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and outpatient clinics. This role requires a versatile individual with strong patient service skills, medical knowledge, and experience working in fast-paced medical environments such as Level I and Level II trauma centers, emergency departments, and inpatient units. The Medical Assistant will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care while supporting physicians and healthcare providers with administrative and clinical tasks.
Responsibilities
- Assist with patient intake processes, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms
- Measure and record vital signs accurately
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures in outpatient, inpatient, or emergency settings
- Support physicians with medication administration, injections, and basic wound care
- Operate EHR systems efficiently to document patient information and clinical notes
- May schedule appointments as an MA, maintain patient records, verify patient information, process insurance and other health record forms and answer clinical phone calls/voicemails, and sort/complete nurse faxes
- Team member meetings and training, growth and communication
- Provide patient education on treatment plans and post-care instructions
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas in accordance with infection control protocols
- Triage-Take Vital Signs, administer injections, set up and perform basic procedures
Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent certification preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and medication administration
- Experience working with EHR systems and medical-surgical documentation processes
- Ability to perform basic life support (BLS) certification is required or obtainable upon hire
- Strong patient service skills with a compassionate approach to patient care
- Experience working in high-pressure environments
- Familiarity with X-ray procedures and inpatient care settings is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team of healthcare professionals
Pay: $ $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
