TIG/GTAW Welder

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced TIG Welder to join our precision manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) on a variety of metal alloys, ensuring the highest standards of quality and precision. Your expertise in welding techniques and blueprint interpretation will be critical to our production success.

Responsibilities

• Interpret technical drawings, process sheets, and sample parts to determine required dimensions, tolerances, and welding parameters.
• Set up and execute manual GTAW operations on both similar and dissimilar metal alloys, achieving precise and reliable welds.
• Ensure weld quality through visual inspection, defect identification, and proficient repair techniques.
• Contribute to the improvement of welding processes by assisting in the development and revision of work instructions.
• Maintain a deep understanding of welding equipment features, gas requirements, and the impact of parameter adjustments on weld quality.
• Apply knowledge of welding symbols, terms, and definitions to accurately interpret and execute welding tasks.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of related GTAW welding experience and/or training.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, and welding symbols.

Preferred Skills

• Certification in groove and fillet welding on thin gauge Stainless Steel, Nickel Alloy, and Cobalt Alloy materials per AWS D17.1 Class A.
• Familiarity with AWS A2.4 and AWS A3.0 standards for welding symbols, terms, and definitions.
• Experience in visually inspecting weldments and identifying potential defects.
