Diesel Mechanic

Overview
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team, providing expert maintenance and repair services for a variety of heavy-duty equipment and vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with diesel engines, and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical issues efficiently. This role offers an opportunity to work with a diverse range of machinery, including farm equipment, industrial machinery, and commercial vehicles, in a dynamic and safety-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, and HVAC systems.
• Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, shocks & struts replacement, and wheel alignments.
• Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues accurately.
• Operate and repair heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and other industrial machinery.
• Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication equipment.
• Assist in assembly and disassembly of various equipment components for repair or maintenance purposes.
• Maintain detailed service records and ensure all work complies with safety standards and regulations.
• Support customer service efforts by providing technical advice and ensuring timely repairs to minimize downtime.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Heavy Equipment Technician with dealership experience preferred.
• Strong background in automotive diagnostics, vehicle maintenance, and mechanical repair of farm machinery and industrial equipment.
• Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers.
• Knowledge of schematics for electrical systems and hydraulic diagrams is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with welding, fabrication techniques, HVAC systems, tire service, alignment procedures, and power tools usage.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Prior service technician experience with customer service focus is advantageous. This position requires a motivated individual with excellent mechanical skills who is committed to quality workmanship and safety standards.
