We are hiring a motivated Shipping Clerk for our Virginia Beach, Virginia warehouse. In this role, you will be essential to ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed correctly and efficiently, contributing to the overall success of our logistics operations. Your duties will include preparing shipping labels and documentation, coordinating with freight carriers, tracking shipments, and maintaining accurate shipping records. You will work collaboratively with the receiving and order fulfillment teams to guarantee a seamless flow of goods. A strong grasp of shipping procedures, excellent organizational skills, and a firm commitment to safety are paramount. Key Responsibilities:
- Generate and verify shipping labels and documentation for all outgoing orders.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and manage delivery timelines.
- Track the status of shipments and provide timely updates to stakeholders.
- Confirm accuracy of shipping addresses and order details.
- Liaise with internal departments to ensure smooth processing of outbound shipments.
- Ensure all packages are correctly prepared, sealed, and staged for carrier collection.
- Maintain meticulous records of all shipping activities.
- Uphold all safety standards and guidelines, including the consistent use of PPE.
- Assist in managing warehouse inventory and supplies related to shipping.
- Promptly address and resolve any shipping-related discrepancies or issues.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in a shipping or logistics role is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with shipping software and computer systems.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
- Knowledge of carrier requirements and shipping regulations.
- A proactive approach to safety and adherence to PPE protocols.
- Capability for light lifting as part of the role.
