Become a key member of our logistics team as a Shipping Clerk in the bustling environment of New York City, New York. This role is essential for ensuring that all outbound shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and on time. You will manage shipping documentation, coordinate with carriers, and oversee the preparation of goods for dispatch. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of shipping procedures, excellent organizational skills, and a keen eye for detail. Safety is a top priority, and adherence to all warehouse safety protocols, including the mandatory use of PPE, is expected. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all necessary shipping documentation (e.g., bills of lading, shipping labels).
- Coordinate with various shipping carriers for timely pickups and deliveries.
- Verify the accuracy of shipping information and destination addresses.
- Ensure all outgoing packages are correctly labeled and secured for transit.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate records of all shipments.
- Uphold all safety standards and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Liaise with internal departments to confirm order readiness for shipment.
- Assist in receiving operations as needed.
- Address and resolve any shipping-related discrepancies or issues promptly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a shipping or logistics coordination role.
- Familiarity with shipping software and common carrier platforms.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to handle moderate lifting.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
- Excellent communication skills.
