Conifer Energy Inc is a Calgary-based independent oil and natural gas company focused on the development and production of oil and natural gas reserves in Alberta's Swan Hills and Redwater areas. Our primary assets include six legacy oil pools, strategically located to maximize operational efficiency and resource recovery.
Conifer is seeking an Electrician for our facilities in Whitecourt/Swan Hills, Alberta. This is a permanent full-time position and preference will be given to those candidates that reside in the Whitecourt/Swan Hills area (within 100 kms of the facility or be willing to relocate).
The ideal candidate will have seven-plus years of experience and will be responsible for daily maintenance, troubleshooting and programming. This is a self-motivated position that maintains consistent communication with the Operations and Electrical Instrumentation teams.
Responsibilities:
- Day to day maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of electrical power systems and process control equipment, including uninterruptible power systems (UPS), heat trace, electric actuated valves, and other associated equipment.
- Maintenance, troubleshooting, programming of:
- Well control equipment; high voltage contactors; high/ low voltage transformers, variable frequency drives
- Low/medium voltage motor control center; switchgear; and voltage power transformers; protection and control relays' variable frequency drives (VFDs)
- Electric heat trace (EHT) and heat trace controller installations
- Instrumentation and control equipment on new or existing oil and gas process equipment and processes
- Inspect and test instruments and systems to diagnose faults using pneumatic, electrical, and electronic testing devices and precision measuring instruments
- Install process control instrumentation including transmitters, controllers, analyzers, and control valves
- DCS programming and troubleshooting (PLC), control software and human-machine interface systems
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance work and completion of test and maintenance reports
- Maintain and properly redline electrical drawings and participating in relevant electrical related MOC processes
- Write and implement electrical procedures in accordance with company and regulatory standards
- Source/order electrical materials and track inventories
- Work hand in hand with operations and maintenance staff in a team-oriented setting
- Ensure activities are completed safely and are in compliance by following all company and regulatory standards, policies, and procedures
Qualifications:
- A qualified electrical tradesperson with Five-plus years experience or a dual ticket in an energy and or heavy industrial environment
- Knowledge and experience troubleshooting equipment and systems, such as: Allen Bradley, Bristol, Floboss, SCADAPack RTUs as well as utilizing multimeters, Megger loop calibrators, and other related test equipment
- Experience working with artificial lift VFD & ESP (Baker Hughes/Schlumberger preferred) and industrial network experience (Device Net, DH+, Ethernet, and Modbus)
- Knowledge and understanding of applicable provincial and federal regulations/codes
- Basic computer skills working with Microsoft Office/Excel
- Retain a high degree of initiative, self-supervision, and creative skills along with strong communication skills when collaborating with team members
- Hold in high regard respect for all safety requirements
- Provide 24 hour on-call support on a rotating schedule
