Community Engagement Manager

POSITION TITLE: Community Engagement Manager

REPORTS TO: Director of Volunteer Services

PURPOSE: Community Engagement Manager at Habitat for Humanity serves as the bridge between the organization and the communities it supports. Their work ensures that Habitat's programs reach the right people, strengthen local relationships, and build trust at the neighborhood level. This role requires a proactive individual who can anticipate needs, go the extra mile to support our mission, honor commitments, and utilize constructive problem solving.

MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A DRUG SCREEN AND BACKGROUND CHECK. PREFERRED CLEAN DRIVING RECORD FOR AT LEAST 3 YEARS.

Key Responsibilities:

Community Relationship Building

· Build and maintain partnerships with residents, neighborhood associations, city departments, faith groups, and nonprofits.

· Attend and host community meetings, neighborhood fairs, and events to represent Habitat.

· Serve as the primary point of contact for community inquiries about programs, volunteer opportunities, or projects.

Program Outreach & Recruitment

· Promote Habitat's homeownership, home repair, and volunteer programs to eligible families and individuals.

· Develop and distribute outreach materials (flyers, social media, door-to-door campaigns).

· Support applicant recruitment and help residents navigate the application process for services.

· Identify community needs or potential project opportunities (e.g., Rock the Block, veteran builds, aging-in-place modifications).

Volunteer & Partner Engagement

· Coordinate with Habitat staff to involve corporate, civic, and faith-based partners in community improvement projects.

· Help plan and execute volunteer events, including community days, block cleanups, and painting/repair events.

· Support sponsor recognition and community storytelling (gathering homeowner or volunteer success stories).

Data, Impact, and Reporting

· Track participation numbers, demographic data, and outcomes for neighborhood projects.

· Gather community feedback to inform Habitat's strategy and future engagement.

· Prepare reports or talking points that highlight impact for funders, city partners, and internal leadership.

Community Empowerment

· Facilitate opportunities for residents to lead or co-design projects that strengthen their neighborhoods.

· Support initiatives like Neighborhood Advisory Councils or community listening sessions.

· Help connect residents to additional local resources beyond Habitat's direct services.

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Community Development, Social Work, or a related field. - preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in nonprofit or community-based organization –preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Experience with CRM platforms preferred; familiarity with Giveffect is a plus.

Required Skills and Preferred Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage, motivate, and build rapport with community members from diverse backgrounds.
• Comfortable with public speaking and initiating conversations in a variety of settings.
• Bilingual proficiency preferred but not required.
• Willingness to attend multiple council and Chamber of Commerce meetings throughout the county as a representative of our affiliate.
• Hospitality-focused with the ability to drive a company vehicle; clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) required.

Position is located in Lake Worth, FL. NO RELOCATION packages are being offered.
