We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist for our San Diego, California facility. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory. You will implement and oversee inventory control procedures, conduct regular cycle counts, and investigate discrepancies. This position is vital to our logistics operations, ensuring that we have accurate stock levels to meet customer demand and minimize loss. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of inventory management systems, excellent analytical skills, and a commitment to operational efficiency. We foster a collaborative environment and value precision in all our tasks. Your expertise will directly impact our supply chain's performance.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain inventory control procedures and policies.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
- Manage and maintain inventory records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Monitor stock levels and report on inventory status, including stock aging and turnover.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory to optimize space and prevent damage.
- Collaborate with logistics, operations, and purchasing teams to forecast inventory needs.
- Oversee the receiving and put-away processes to ensure accurate inventory recording.
- Implement measures to prevent shrinkage and damage, enforcing Safety protocols.
- Train warehouse staff on inventory control best practices and the use of PPE when handling specific items.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
- Proficiency with WMS and other inventory management software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of inventory control principles and best practices in logistics.
- Ability to perform tasks involving moderate Lifting, typically up to 35 pounds.
- Understanding of Safety regulations in a warehouse environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
