We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our team in San Francisco, California. This role is critical to ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of all outgoing shipments. You will be responsible for managing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, and preparing shipments for dispatch, playing a key part in our logistics operations. A strong focus on Safety and accuracy is required. If you excel in administrative tasks within a warehouse setting, this is an excellent career move.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process shipping documents, including bills of lading and manifests.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Verify outgoing orders against shipping instructions for accuracy.
- Ensure all packages are properly labeled, sealed, and secured for transit.
- Maintain accurate records of all outgoing shipments.
- Operate shipping department equipment, such as printers and scanners.
- Communicate with warehouse staff and other departments regarding shipping status.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) within the shipping area.
- Follow all Lifting guidelines when handling packages.
- Assist with inventory counts as needed.
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role.
- Proficiency in shipping software and general computer applications.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of warehouse Safety procedures.
- Ability to perform moderate Lifting of up to 30 pounds.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
