Job Summary:
We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to manage outbound shipments at our Nashville, Tennessee facility. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all products are accurately documented, packaged, and shipped in a timely manner. This role demands precision and efficiency to meet delivery schedules and maintain customer satisfaction. You will interact with carriers, verify shipping information, and maintain shipping records. Responsibilities:
  • Prepare shipping documents, including bills of lading, packing slips, and customs forms.
  • Verify shipping information for accuracy, including addresses and item counts.
  • Select appropriate shipping carriers and methods based on destination, urgency, and cost.
  • Coordinate with freight carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
  • Ensure packages are properly packed, labeled, and secured for transit.
  • Maintain accurate records of all outgoing shipments.
  • Track shipments and provide updates to relevant departments and customers.
  • Operate shipping software and equipment.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
  • Assist with general warehouse duties as needed, supporting the broader logistics operations.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in shipping software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Familiarity with various shipping carriers and their requirements.
  • Knowledge of logistics and supply chain principles.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment, including the correct use of PPE.
This position involves standing, walking, and some lifting throughout the day. The role is critical to our logistics flow and requires diligence in all shipping processes.
