We have an exciting opportunity for an Inventory Control Specialist in San Diego, California! This role is critical for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory, which is a cornerstone of our logistics operations. As an Inventory Control Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting regular inventory counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing strategies to improve inventory accuracy. You will work closely with the warehouse management system (WMS) and collaborate with the warehouse team to ensure efficient and accurate stock levels. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of warehouse procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory counts.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate inventory records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Implement and monitor inventory control procedures to minimize loss and damage.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements.
- Coordinate with receiving and shipping departments to ensure proper stock rotation.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, including proper lifting techniques and the use of PPE.
- Assist in training warehouse staff on inventory-related procedures.
- Contribute to optimizing warehouse space and logistics flow.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
- Proficiency with WMS software and strong analytical skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Understanding of logistics, supply chain, and inventory best practices.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to PPE requirements.
