We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. Your duties will include conducting cycle counts, reconciling discrepancies, investigating stock issues, and implementing inventory control procedures. A thorough understanding of warehouse operations and Logistics is essential for success. You will work closely with the warehouse management team to identify areas for improvement in inventory processes and ensure efficient stock rotation. Maintaining a safe working environment is a top priority; therefore, adherence to all Safety regulations and proper use of PPE is mandatory. While this role is primarily analytical, there may be occasional requirements for physical tasks, including assisting with Lifting or moving inventory to facilitate counts or investigations. The ideal candidate possesses strong analytical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a meticulous approach to data management. Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure data accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
- Implement and maintain effective inventory control procedures and policies.
- Monitor inventory levels and report on stock status, including potential shortages or overages.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend improvements to warehouse Logistics .
- Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory to minimize damage and loss.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff and management to improve inventory accuracy and efficiency.
- Adhere to all company Safety policies and guidelines, including the proper use of PPE .
- Assist with physical inventory tasks as needed, which may include light Lifting .
- Maintain accurate records of all inventory-related transactions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or relevant certification preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a related warehouse role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and MS Excel.
- Excellent understanding of warehouse operations and Logistics .
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of Safety regulations and PPE requirements in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to perform occasional light Lifting (up to 30 lbs).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
