We are seeking a detail-oriented and efficient Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in San Jose, California. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, verifying package contents against orders, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining accurate shipping records. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all shipping documentation, including bills of lading and shipping labels.
- Verify that all items packed correspond to the customer's order accurately.
- Coordinate with various shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS, LTL freight) to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Maintain organized shipping and receiving areas, ensuring a clean and safe work environment.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments (e.g., sales, warehouse) to resolve any shipping discrepancies or issues.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and industry regulations related to shipping and logistics.
- Operate standard office equipment, including computers, printers, and scanners.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Shipping Manager.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and general computer skills (MS Office).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks, including occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and safety procedures is a plus.
