We are looking for a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our team in Kansas City, Missouri. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately receiving, inspecting, and documenting all incoming shipments. Your efficiency and accuracy are vital to maintaining our inventory integrity and ensuring smooth warehouse operations. You will work closely with vendors and internal departments to resolve any discrepancies and ensure all goods are properly accounted for. This is an excellent opportunity to be a key player in our logistics chain.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming freight efficiently and safely.
- Inspect incoming shipments for damage and accuracy against purchase orders.
- Accurately document all received goods into the inventory system.
- Identify and report any discrepancies or damages to management.
- Stage received goods for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Operate material handling equipment as needed.
- Adhere to all warehouse Safety regulations and protocols.
- Ensure proper use of required PPE , such as safety glasses and gloves.
- Collaborate with logistics and inventory teams to ensure accuracy.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in receiving, inventory control, or a similar warehouse role is preferred. Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, including occasional heavy Lifting (up to 50 lbs). Basic computer proficiency for data entry. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Understanding of warehouse operations and Logistics principles. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Must be reliable and punctual. A proactive approach to maintaining inventory accuracy and a commitment to workplace safety.
Working Conditions:
This position operates within a warehouse environment, which may involve exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels. The role requires standing, walking, bending, and occasional lifting for extended periods. We are committed to providing a safe working environment and require all employees to strictly follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate PPE.
