Our logistics team in Colorado Springs, Colorado, is seeking a skilled and certified Forklift Operator to manage the efficient movement of goods within our warehouse. This role is critical for maintaining the flow of inventory and ensuring that materials are handled safely and effectively. As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts to transport, stack, and retrieve products, contributing directly to our operational success. Your duties will include performing daily equipment checks, adhering to strict safety protocols, and maintaining accurate records of material movements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and possesses strong spatial awareness. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and be committed to upholding our high standards of operational excellence. Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts (e.g., sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) to move, stack, and unstack materials.
- Conduct thorough pre-operational inspections of forklifts daily and report any maintenance issues.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and shipping/receiving docks.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and equipment throughout the facility.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and RF scanners to track inventory movements and update locations.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies, including wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
- Assist with inventory control activities, such as cycle counts and stock placement.
- Follow all operational procedures to ensure efficient logistics flow.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve daily operational goals.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification and a minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Demonstrated experience with various types of forklifts is essential.
- Ability to perform significant lifting, up to 70 pounds, and prolonged standing/walking.
- Thorough understanding of warehouse safety standards and best practices for forklift operation.
- Familiarity with RF scanning technology and warehouse management systems is a plus.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination, balance, and spatial judgment.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and reliability.
- Ability to work effectively in a demanding, fast-paced logistics setting.
