*Job Summary*
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Otology Focused Physician Assistant to join our specialized ENT (Ear, Nose, Throat) team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive patient care in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of otologic conditions, including hearing loss, tinnitus, vertigo, and other ear-related disorders. You will collaborate closely with our otologist and multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional care in a fast-paced clinical environment. Your expertise will help improve patient outcomes through thorough assessments, advanced procedures, and innovative treatment plans. *Responsibilities*
* Work independently and contribute to the group’s effectiveness by identifying acute and chronic patient care issues to address; recommends options and courses of action; implements physician directives.
* Assesses patient health by interviewing patients; performs physical examinations; obtains, updates, and studies medical histories.
* Orders diagnostic tests, such as imaging studies, audiograms, and laboratory studies as needed; interprets test results.
* Documents patient care services by charting via the EMR system.
* Performs therapeutic procedures such as cerumen removal, flexible upper away endoscopy, intratympanic injections, tympanostomy tube insertion and mastoid cavity cleaning.
* Instructs and counsels patients by describing therapeutic regimens; promoting wellness and health maintenance; encouraging compliance with recommended treatment plans.
* Fields patient calls as received via our triage department, contacting the physician when appropriate.
* Contributes to team effort by coordinating care with internal and outside medical providers and those within the practice (e.g. audiologists, etc.)
* Provides postoperative care: suture/drain/packing removal, surgical wound care, review of pathology and culture results, ordering of appropriate follow-up care.
*Experience*
* Prior hospital experience working within a Level I or Level II trauma center is highly desirable.
* Demonstrated proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks for documentation and data management. Experience in ModMed is a plus.
* Experience performing physical examinations, and utilizing diagnostic evaluation tools.
* Knowledge of CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology) and ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases) for accurate billing and documentation purposes.
* Exposure to clinical research environments or participation in clinical trials related to ENT or audiology is a plus.
* Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques necessary for safe patient care. Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
