Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing a broad range of accounting functions, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and delivering accurate financial reports that support strategic decision-making. Your expertise in various accounting software and financial concepts will drive efficiency and accuracy across our financial operations. Responsibilities

  • Prepare, analyze, and interpret complex financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory standards.
  • Manage the general ledger, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.
  • Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accuracy of accounts receivable and accounts payable records.
  • Oversee payroll processing, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and accurate reporting.
  • Perform cash flow analysis, bank reconciliations, and budgeting activities to support financial planning.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) controls and assist with internal audits to uphold financial integrity.
  • Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, ADP, CDK or similar platforms to streamline operations.
  • Assist in financial report writing and interpretation to inform management decisions.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in corporate accounting, governmental accounting, or non-profit accounting environments.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP principles, technical accounting standards, and financial concepts such as debits & credits, accrual accounting, and double-entry bookkeeping.
  • Proficiency with accounting software including QuickBooks, ADP, CDK or equivalent platforms; experience with Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Experience with financial statement preparation, account reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and general ledger management.
  • Ability to analyze financial data accurately and communicate findings effectively through detailed reports.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations an asset
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong mentoring skills to support team development in technical accounting areas.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred. Dealership experience as asset.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $44,925.62-$86,835.56 per year
