We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our team on a PRN (as-needed) basis. In this vital role, you will provide expert therapeutic services to diverse patient populations across multiple settings, including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, schools, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. Your mission will be to enhance patients’ functional independence, promote recovery, and support their journey toward optimal well-being. *Duties*
* Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional needs to develop personalized care plans.
* Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as dressing, grooming, and mobility, to foster independence.
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—including speech therapists, physicians, nurses, and educators—to coordinate care strategies.
* Facilitate discharge planning by preparing patients for transition back to home or community settings with appropriate therapies and resources.
* Work with individuals across various populations including pediatrics (children in early intervention and school settings), geriatrics, people with disabilities or autism spectrum disorder, and those in post-acute care environments.
* Implement therapeutic interventions tailored to specific needs—whether in acute care units like ICU or inpatient wards, outpatient clinics, or skilled nursing facilities.
* Educate patients and families on therapy goals, exercises, adaptive techniques, and safety measures.
* Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress, treatment plans, and case management records in compliance with regulatory standards.
* Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with advances in occupational therapy practices and physiology knowledge.
*Requirements*
* Valid state licensure as an Occupational Therapist with current certification.
* Proven experience working in diverse settings such as inpatient hospitals (including ICU), outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, home health services, or schools.
* Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology principles relevant to occupational therapy interventions.
* Familiarity with medical terminology used in hospital and clinical environments.
* Experience assisting patients with ADLs and developing effective care plans tailored to individual needs.
* Knowledge of discharge planning processes and case management strategies.
* Ability to work effectively with people of all ages—pediatrics through geriatrics—and diverse backgrounds including those with autism spectrum disorder or disabilities.
* Excellent communication skills for educating patients and collaborating within multidisciplinary teams.
