Construction Project Manager (EPC)

We are seeking a Construction Project Manager to support EPC Project Managers and Program Managers in delivering successful projects from pre-construction through completion and warranty phases. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day construction operations, ensuring projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with quality standards.

This is a field-based role located in Joplin, MO, requiring strong leadership, coordination, and project execution experience across complex construction environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote and enforce safety programs, policies, and procedures; lead safety performance across project teams and subcontractors
  • Oversee daily construction activities and manage one or multiple projects simultaneously
  • Support project planning, scheduling, estimating, and cost development; establish critical project objectives
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships; serve as a key point of contact for project-related matters
  • Participate in project risk reviews and coordinate with legal teams as needed
  • Negotiate contracts including prime contracts, subcontracts, and change orders
  • Implement key elements of the Project Execution Plan, including construction execution, QA/QC, safety, staffing, and procurement plans
  • Develop construction staffing plans and manage multidisciplinary teams for efficient project execution
  • Oversee site planning, mobilization, and demobilization activities
  • Ensure all required permits and approvals are obtained and maintained
  • Lead RFP and bid processes, including scope development, subcontractor prequalification, evaluation, and award recommendations
  • Review and present project reports including budgets, cash flow forecasts, and status updates to leadership and stakeholders
  • Coordinate with engineering teams to align deliverables with project schedules
  • Manage contract administration processes including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and claims mitigation
  • Oversee invoicing processes for prime contracts and subcontractors
  • Coordinate commissioning and startup activities with clients and vendors
  • Ensure proper documentation control and compliance across all project phases
  • Manage insurance, licensing, tax, and bonding requirements for projects and subcontractors
  • Conduct safety, quality, progress, and financial audits
  • Oversee non-conformance reporting and corrective action processes
  • Manage project cost reporting, scheduling, work breakdown structures, and field progress tracking
  • Oversee material management including receiving, storage, inventory, and logistics
  • Ensure subcontractor and contractor compliance with contract requirements, safety, quality, and schedule
  • Lead project closeout activities including turnover documentation, warranty management, and record retention
  • Interface with governmental, industry, and community stakeholders as needed
  • Mentor and train project team members including coordinators, supervisors, and junior project managers
  • Provide performance feedback for project staff
  • Manage labor relations, staffing, craft classifications, and labor cost tracking
  • Oversee construction equipment usage and availability
  • Track and manage earned value, scheduling metrics, cost controls, and change management
  • Support development of labor agreements and maintain relationships with building trades
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field and 7+ years of relevant project management experience in the construction industry. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Experience with project management systems, scheduling tools, and cost control software preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in industries such as aviation, commercial, energy, government, manufacturing, oil & gas, transportation, transmission & distribution, or water preferred
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet driving requirements
