Job Summary:
The Therapy Services Director provides leadership and oversight for therapy services at Aspen Hope Center, including Outpatient Therapy, Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), the organizations developing Internship Program, and community resource navigation. This position is responsible for ensuring high-quality clinical care, clinical supervision best practices, regulatory compliance, and the cultivation of a supportive and growth-oriented clinical culture.
The Therapy Services Director reports directly to the Chief Clinical Officer and serves as a key leader in advancing Aspen Hope Center's mission to provide accessible, trauma-informed, and clinically excellent behavioral health services across the community.
The ideal candidate is a strong clinical leader who values mentorship, systems development, collaboration, and clinician growth. This individual will help shape the future of the organization's therapy services while building sustainable systems that support both clients and clinicians.
Duties & Responsibilities:- Provide leadership, clinical supervision, and oversight for all Therapy services, including Outpatient Therapy, the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), the Internship Program, and the Community Resource Navigator.
- Support the development of a healthy, collaborative, and growth-oriented clinical culture grounded in professionalism, attunement, curiosity, accountability, and clinical excellence.
- Collaborate with organizational leadership to support strategic planning, program development, staffing, and service expansion.
- Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to agency-wide initiatives and operational planning.
- Provide clinical supervision and leadership support for outpatient clinicians and the Community Resource Navigator.
- Facilitate group clinical supervision and consultation.
- Support clinicians with case conceptualization, risk assessment, documentation, ethical practice, and clinical decision-making.
- Promote high standards of clinical care, documentation quality, and client engagement.
- Assist with clinician onboarding, professional development, performance support, and retention efforts.
- Support development of specialty areas, group programming, and evidence-informed therapeutic practices.
- Lead the development and implementation of a robust clinical internship program designed to serve as a high-quality training ground for emerging behavioral health professionals.
- Build partnerships with graduate programs and universities to support recruitment and placement opportunities.
- Develop onboarding, clinical supervision, training, evaluation, and mentorship structures for interns.
- Foster a learning environment that emphasizes ethical practice, clinical skill development, trauma-informed care, professional identity formation, and reflective practice.
- Ensure interns receive appropriate clinical supervision, support, and educational opportunities aligned with licensing and academic requirements.
- Provide clinical supervision and leadership support to the IOP Supervisor.
- Ensure the Intensive Outpatient Program operates in alignment with organization standards, clinical best practices, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee ongoing compliance with Behavioral Health Administration (BHA), Rocky Mountain Health Plans (RMHP), BHASO, RAE, Medicaid, and other applicable regulatory and payer requirements.
- Assist with program development, quality improvement efforts, workflow development, and clinical oversight within the IOP.
- Support documentation quality, clinical integrity, and program fidelity.
- Completes all required clinical supervision training and Aspen Hope Center onboarding requirements in accordance with BHA regulations and applicable licensure standards.
- Collaborate with leadership and Quality Assurance/Risk Management to ensure compliance with clinical, regulatory, and documentation standards.
- Monitor program effectiveness and support quality improvement initiatives.
- Assist in developing policies, procedures, workflows, and clinical standards related to therapy services.
- Audit charts and prepare for BHA audits
- Uphold best practices and implement corrective action when necessary
- Develop and oversee training of new and existing therapy team members
- Collaborate with internal programs including Crisis Services, School-Based Services, Education & Outreach, and Peer Support initiatives to support continuity of care and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, referral sources, graduate programs, and healthcare providers.
- Represent Aspen Hope Center professionally within the community and behavioral health system.
- Represent Aspen Hope Center at a minimum of one internal and/or external event during the year, determined in collaboration with the CCO.
- Acknowledges and adheres to all policies and procedures of Aspen Hope Center
- Completes additional job related tasks as assigned by the Chief Clinical Officer
Work Environment:
Work is performed in a combination of office and community settings. Occasional evening, overnight, weekend, or holiday support is required to maintain program operations or respond to emergent staffing or community needs. There may be extended periods of standing, walking, and sitting. Work may involve exposure to high-stress and emotionally charged situations, to include interactions with high acuity individuals who may present as agitated, unpredictable, or combative. The director must demonstrate the ability to maintain therapeutic composure, apply de-escalation techniques, and uphold safety for self and others in all environments. Emotional resilience, strong clinical judgment, and the capacity to function effectively under pressure are essential to success in this role.

- Ability to uphold confidentiality and discretion at all times, adhering to the US Dept of Health and Human Services minimum necessary standard when disclosing and requesting public health information
- Ability to maintain communication with clinical team on a daily basis
- English/Spanish bilingual abilities are a plus
Credentials & Experience:
- Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related behavioral health field required.
- Active Colorado licensure required (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or licensed psychologist).
- 3+ years clinical supervision experience required.
- 3+ years experience managing or supervising behavioral health programs preferred
- Experience with IOP, outpatient therapy services, and/or clinical training programs preferred.
- Knowledge of Colorado behavioral health systems, Medicaid, BHA, BHASO, RAE, and regulatory compliance preferred.
- Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Commitment to trauma-informed, inclusive, and collaborative care.
