Job Overview Architect – AI Security at SHI International is responsible for serving as SHI’s subject‑matter expert on all aspects of AI and machine learning security, including AI threat modeling, secure AI/ML pipeline design, adversarial machine learning defense, AI governance and compliance frameworks, and the integration of security controls across the AI development lifecycle.
Position is remote with a home‑office setup as determined by SHI. The role involves conducting proof‑of‑concepts, technical presentations, and remote enablement content to keep engineering and sales teams current on emerging AI threats, platform capabilities, and best practices.
Responsibilities
Lead technical discovery sessions to assess clients’ AI security maturity across model protection, data governance, inference security, and AI‑specific incident response capabilities.
Translate complex AI security concepts such as adversarial machine learning to diverse audiences and design and present target‑state AI security architectures covering secure model training pipelines, inference endpoint protection, data provenance controls, model registries, and integration with broader security stacks (CNAPP, IAM, zero trust).
Develop and maintain internal practice collateral, including AI security reference architectures, battle cards, competitive analyses, technical briefs, and vendor evaluation frameworks.
Evaluate and qualify new AI security vendor partnerships, platform consolidations, and legacy solution retirements.
Conduct internal enablement sessions for engineering and sales teams on emerging AI threats, product updates, use cases, and AI security best practices.
Drive revenue growth within the presales team by identifying new AI security partner teams and creating synergistic AI security service solutions that integrate AI security technologies, frameworks, and regulatory developments.
Maintain practice standards to ensure high‑quality service delivery and continuous improvement of AI security solutions.
Behaviors and Technical Proficiency
Demonstrated adaptability and ability to lead others through change, driving team performance and delivering successful project outcomes.
Intermediate proficiency in defining, designing, building, and maintaining robust AI security architectures using enterprise security platforms, AI/ML tooling, and cloud infrastructure.
Familiarity with programming languages (Python, Go, or Bash) and their application to security automation, AI model scanning, adversarial testing, and integration workflows.
Deep understanding of the AI development lifecycle security, including secure data collection, model training isolation, inference endpoint hardening, AI‑specific incident response, and continuous improvement frameworks.
Qualifications
Completed Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or equivalent work experience.
5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 1–2 years focused on AI/ML security, cloud security, or application security involving hands‑on architecture design and implementation.
Demonstrated domain expertise in cybersecurity or AI security.
Willingness to travel occasionally.
Relevant certifications: CISSP, CCSP, or CISM; CompTIA Security+, CySA+, SANS GIAC (GCIA, GCIH, GSOM), or CEH; SIEM platform certification; ITIL Foundation or ITIL Specialist; Cloud Security Specialty Certification; Certified SOC Analyst (CSA) or equivalent.
